Year Certified: 1995 - was the first ever certified teacher of Monty’s methods.
Bio Daughter of a racehorse trainer, Kelly Mark's life has been filled with horses. She won BSJA Championships (show jumping) as a child rider and continued on to great success as a Lady Jockey retiring after she won a Ladies European Championship in 1995. Kelly conducted the first authorized courses using Monty's concepts, beginning in Oxfordshire, England in 1996. She is the founder of 'Intelligent Horsemanship', an organization dedicated to bringing the best horsemanship ideas together from around the world. Kelly tries to find the least stressful and most harmonious methods to create successful working relationships between horse and human. Kelly gives demonstrations sharing Join Up methods to help 'horses with problems', often traveling within the UK, as well as to South Africa, Singapore, Sweden, Denmark and France with the support of other instructors. She has acted as consultant to the veterinarians of ‘The Brooke Hospital for Animals’ travelling to Jordan and Delhi. In 2009 Kelly travelled to each area for Great Britain for the British Horse Society as it was seen as important by this, the largest Welfare organisation in Britain that all their instructors should have an introduction to Monty’s concepts. The highlight of her year though, was winning the SEIB BHS TREC Pro-Am Challenge at Royal Windsor on her former ‘Problem Pony’ now love of her life, American Pie. Very occasionally I have offered clinics abroad when demonstrating Monty’s methods but our preference is to run them from our UK base which has all the necessary facilities. These clinics are based in Witney, Oxfordshire at Hartsop Farm owned by Monty Roberts Instructor, Ian Vandenberghe. The Horse Psychology 2 day course is run in Lambourn, Berkshire. Yes, although we have plenty of suitable horses for students to use. English We offer former students and people who may not be able to afford the courses the opportunity to come as a helper on the practical week long or weekend courses. There are facilities for Camping or Caravan but otherwise they need to organize and pay for their own accommodation. We occasionally host days for businesses wishing to learn leadership lessons from horses. We also plan to do some BHS TREC training days. We have indoor and outdoor arenas and a large classroom. |
